A number of companies are already experimenting with building smart, advanced companion robot sex doll, and there have been big breakthroughs in some areas of technology...
Recently, a shocking new report claimed that in just 30 years, humans will be choosing to partner with robots instead of real humans.
The report, titled The Future of Sex, claims that “robotophilia” will become more and more common as technology advances.
The report, commissioned by Bondara and written by renowned futurist Dr. Ian Pearson, states that at first, many people will still have reservations about interacting with robots, but as they grow accustomed to it, that existential resistance will fade away as artificial intelligence, mechanical behavior and subjective feelings change and humans and robots begin to become friends with strong emotional bonds.
The report pegs 2050 as the year when human-robot bonding overtakes human-human bonding. It also notes that in just 15 years, most people will have : “some form of virtual love as casual as the information they browse online today.”
Dr. Pearson said that advances in automated and intelligent technology will provide opportunities for those who would otherwise not have them.
He writes, “Virtual reality (VR) can allow a great relationship to happen for those who would otherwise have little chance: those who are too old or have limited behavior in real life.”
The reality is that some companies are already experimenting with smart, advanced companion robots, with notable success.
“Matt McMullen, CEO of RealDoll, a maker of “solid dolls,” makes a new toy (a companion robot named Harmony) that blinks, opens its mouth, and even talks to you. His ultimate goal is to create a doll that looks like “her” and enjoys human interaction.
He said on the famous foreign forum site Reddit before the company’s research and development: “We will probably set up a new company specializing in the development of artificial intelligence and the integration of realistic adult toys and potential virtual reality applications.”
Meanwhile, another robotics expert has launched a campaign to ban the development of companion robots in the UK. Dr. Catherine Richardson, a senior researcher at De Montfort University in England, claims that the development of companion robots is a “disturbing” trend that needs to be stopped.
According to her, “Companion robots seem to be getting more and more attention in the robotics industry, and the models they are using – how they look, what role they will play – are very disturbing indeed. “
“It seems to me that the creation of such robots will destroy relationships between men and women, adults and children, men and men, women and women.”
